CHERRY VALLEY CLUB
🇺🇸 Garden City, NY, USA
Designed by Devereux Emmet, Robert Trent Jones Sr., Walter Travis

Cherry Valley Club, a sporting refuge amidst the bustle of Garden City, is known for its old-school charm. Its appeal is anchored in a familial membership as much as its golf.
Designed during the burgeoning years of American golf architecture, Cherry Valley presents a classic parkland layout defined by mature trees and subtly contoured greens. The course, demanding thoughtful strategy over sheer power, favors accuracy off the tee and a deft touch around the greens. It plays shorter than its listed yardage, with doglegs and well-placed bunkers rewarding cerebral play over brute force. Don't be shy to employ a punch shot or two.
While not a regular stop on the professional circuit, Cherry Valley has been a stalwart in regional amateur golf, hosting numerous Met Area events. More notably, the membership is known for a deep camaraderie. The grill room buzzes with spirited conversations amongst members; many of whom grew up together on Long Island. And if you're lucky, you might even see the course owner, a Cherry Valley member himself, join you for a round of golf.
