Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, resting along the Tennessee River, is a portrait of Southern golf heritage, established well before the Roaring Twenties. Its gently rolling parkland layout, a walkable design easily favoring precise iron play into subtly contoured greens, belies its vintage. Original architect Donald Ross blessed this land in 1919, and the course has seen careful stewardship over the decades with Rees Jones implementing a strategic restoration in the early 2000's, respecting the ground’s Golden Age character while subtly modernizing its defenses for the contemporary game. While Chattanooga Golf and Country Club may not clamor for national headlines, it holds a distinctive place in the region’s golfing landscape. The membership is noted for its deep roots in the city’s civic and business leadership. A particular highlight is the club's revered 'Riverview Burger,' a simple yet cherished culinary staple amongst members, as much a part of the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club experience as the 18th green.
