CHAPEL HILLS GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Douglasville, GA, USA
Designed by Jeff Burton, Rocky Roquemore

Chapel Hills at Chapel Hills Golf Course, nestled in the rolling hills of Douglasville, Georgia, provides a sturdy test for the everyday golfer, but hasn't troubled many tour pros. The course, a product of the 1980's golf boom, is a quintessential parkland layout defined by generous, tree-lined fairways and subtly undulating greens. It isn't overwhelmingly long but favors a gentle draw off the tee to set up approaches into well-guarded complexes.
Designed by Gary Roger Baird, Chapel Hills presents a fair, if unspectacular, challenge. Baird's design encourages strategic play, rewarding golfers who can manage the course's doglegs and accurately judge distances. The greens, while not severely contoured, demand respect with their subtle breaks, often confounding those new to their nuances. The par-5 18th, reachable in two for the big hitters, offers a memorable finishing hole, with water lurking left of the green.
Though Chapel Hills hasn’t played host to major championships, its well-maintained conditions and accessible layout make it a popular spot for local tournaments and club events. The members, mostly made up of West Georgia residents, take pride in their course, boasting of the friendly atmosphere and the sense of community fostered within its fairways. After a round, many gather in the clubhouse, known for its comforting clubhouse grill with a few local favorites.
