BLACKLICK WOODS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Reynoldsburg, OH, USA
Designed by Jack Kidwell

Blacklick Woods Golf Club's Championship course sits in Reynoldsburg, a suburb east of Columbus, Ohio, and was designed by Jack Kidwell, a regional architect who worked primarily in the Midwest during the latter half of the twentieth century. Kidwell's designs typically emphasize playability for a range of skill levels while incorporating the natural terrain features common to central Ohio—rolling fairways, mature tree lines, and occasional water hazards. The course serves as a public facility, making championship-caliber golf accessible to the broader Columbus metropolitan area.
The layout takes advantage of the wooded, gently rolling landscape characteristic of this part of Franklin County. Fairways are generally tree-lined, demanding accuracy off the tee, while greens present moderate undulation that rewards thoughtful approach play. Water comes into play on several holes, adding strategic variety to what is otherwise a parkland design shaped by the native hardwood forests. The routing allows golfers to experience different looks and challenges throughout the round, with a mix of risk-reward opportunities and straightforward holes that emphasize solid execution.
Blacklick Woods serves both daily-fee players and league participants, reflecting the public golf culture of central Ohio where accessible courses provide competitive venues for amateur tournaments and regular recreational play. The facility supports a range of golfers seeking a well-maintained test without the exclusivity or cost of private club membership.
Reviews
This course is one of the best values in Columbus. $40 for 18 holes with a cart is elite. They also have a great chipping area and a fun, free 9 hole executive course. The 18 hole course provides 2 of my favorite par 3s in Columbus that are at a mini course.
