CHAMPIONS RUN GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Omaha, NE, USA
Designed by Jeff Brauer

Champions Run is the realization of Johnny Goodman's vision – a testament to Nebraska golf etched into the rolling landscape of northwest Omaha. Designed in the late 1990s, the course embraces its prairie setting, featuring wide fairways and strategic bunkering reminiscent of classic, open layouts. While seemingly forgiving off the tee, approach shots require careful consideration, favoring players who can shape the ball and manage the ever-present wind; a slight fade is often your friend.
Architect Doug Masters, under the direction of local golf legend Johnny Goodman, crafted a layout that rewards thoughtful play. The par-5s are reachable in two for the longer hitters, but demand precision to avoid hazards guarding the greens. Undulating greens complexes add another layer of complexity, requiring a deft touch with the putter. It is not known for hosting any professional tournaments.
Beyond the course, Champions Run fosters a close-knit community rooted in a shared passion for the game. The club's membership boasts a long history of competitive golf, with numerous club champions achieving regional success. It's a place where the spirit of Johnny Goodman lives on, not just in the design of the course but in the camaraderie of its members.
