The design incorporates native vegetation including olive and almond trees, along with typical Mediterranean scrub, which frames many holes and defines playing corridors. Water features appear on several holes, adding strategic considerations to what is primarily a target-oriented design shaped by the topography. Cerrado del Aguila serves both local members and visiting golfers drawn to the Mijas area, which hosts numerous courses within a relatively compact zone.
