Golf Novo Sancti Petri Centro occupies a coastal setting in Chiclana de la Frontera, part of the larger Novo Sancti Petri resort development along Andalucía's Costa de la Luz. Severiano Ballesteros designed the course, which opened in the 1990s as one of two layouts at the property—the other being the Mar course. Ballesteros, who transitioned to golf course architecture after his playing career, brought a strategic sensibility shaped by his competitive experience, particularly his comfort with links-style conditions and creative shot-making.

The routing moves through relatively flat terrain characteristic of this coastal zone, with fairways bordered by Mediterranean vegetation including pine and eucalyptus. Water features appear on several holes, and the design incorporates bunkers positioned to challenge approach angles rather than simply frame landing areas. The course sits close enough to the Atlantic that wind becomes a regular factor in club selection and strategy, though the setting lacks the dune topography of traditional links golf.

The Novo Sancti Petri complex serves both resort visitors and local members, with the Centro layout typically regarded as the more accessible of the two courses on the property. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that supports the dual-course operation. The location between Cádiz and the resort developments of Conil de la Frontera places it within a corridor of Spanish golf courses that cater to both northern European golf tourism and regional play.
