Catta Verdera at Catta Verdera Country Club

Catta Verdera Country Club sits in the Sierra Nevada foothills northeast of Sacramento, near the town of Lincoln in Placer County. Designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 2000, the course occupies rolling terrain characterized by elevation changes, natural rock outcroppings, and native oak woodlands. The property offers views across the surrounding foothills and, on clear days, distant mountain vistas to the east.

Phelps routed the course to work with the natural topography rather than against it, incorporating the site's granite formations and mature trees into the playing corridors. The layout features significant elevation variation from hole to hole, with several tee shots played from elevated positions and approach shots that require careful club selection due to uphill or downhill lies. Water comes into play on multiple holes, and the bunkering reflects a naturalistic style consistent with the Northern California setting.

Catta Verdera operates as a private country club serving the Lincoln area and the broader Sacramento region. The facility includes practice areas and clubhouse amenities typical of upscale residential golf communities in the foothills. The course has hosted regional amateur competitions and qualifiers over the years, though it is not known as a major tournament venue.
