CAPE COD COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 East Falmouth, MA, USA
Designed by Devereux Emmet

Cape Cod Country Club whispers of a bygone golfing era, clinging to the windswept, sandy soil of East Falmouth. Its original routing, dating back to the early 1920s, presents a classic New England parkland experience, albeit one subtly influenced by its proximity to the coast. The fairways, generous in width, belie the subtle slopes and strategically placed bunkers that subtly punish the errant shot. Longer hitters might find themselves with an advantage, but navigating the doglegs and holding the modestly sized, undulating greens demands a deft touch.
While the hand of Devereux Emmet shaped the initial design, the course bears the marks of subsequent refinements over the decades, subtly adjusting to the modern game without sacrificing its vintage charm. This isn't a championship venue, rather a club prized for its welcoming atmosphere and unpretentious embrace of the game.
The Club is locally known for its tight-knit community. Many members hail from families that have resided on the Cape for generations, creating an unwritten tapestry of shared history and local lore woven into the fabric of the club.
Reviews
Layout stands out at this old school cape gem. Great bones and conditions for a relatively cheap public course make it worthwhile. Get there before it closes for good… love love love it - one of my favorite public courses.
