Cabopino Golf sits in the hills above the coastal town of Marbella on Spain's Costa del Sol, designed by Juan Ligués Creus and opened in 1976. The course occupies rolling terrain covered with umbrella pines and Mediterranean vegetation, positioned between the coastal highway and the mountains that define this stretch of Andalucía. The layout takes advantage of natural elevation changes, with several holes playing through pine corridors and others opening to views across the surrounding landscape toward the sea. The routing moves through varied topography, with fairways that bend around the native trees and greens set on platforms that require accurate approach play. The pine forest creates definition and strategic interest throughout, narrowing landing areas and framing targets. Water comes into play on several holes, and the bunkering reflects the design sensibilities of Spanish golf architecture from the 1970s. The course measures just over 5,800 meters from the back tees, making length less critical than accuracy and course management. The club sits near Cabopino Marina and the beaches that give the area its name.
