Muller's design incorporates water features and bunkering to create variety and challenge across the layout. The parkland character means tree-lined fairways and approach shots that require accuracy, while the elevation of Johannesburg—approximately 1,750 meters above sea level—affects ball flight and distance in ways familiar to golfers in the region. Randpark Golf Club has hosted professional events on the Southern African golf calendar, with both courses seeing tournament play over the years. The club maintains traditional South African golf club amenities and operates as a members' club with visitor access. Bushwillow, alongside Firethorn, provides Johannesburg golfers with a well-established parkland option in a city known for its concentration of quality golf courses.
