Woodspring Golf and Country Club sits in the rolling countryside near Long Ashton, just southwest of Bristol in Somerset. The facility features two eighteen-hole courses, the Brunel and the Severn, both designed by the team of Donald Steel, Peter Alliss, and Clive Clark. Steel, a respected English golf course architect who worked extensively throughout Britain and Europe, collaborated with Alliss—the renowned television commentator and accomplished designer—and Clive Clark on this project during the late twentieth century. The partnership produced layouts that reflect the traditional parkland character common to courses in this part of England.
