Broomsedge Golf Club Course
Rembert, SC, USA

Broomsedge is an unassuming, yet beloved, South Carolina classic, a reminder that compelling golf doesn't require championship length or excessive fanfare. Nestled in the rolling Sandhills of Rembert, the course unfolds across terrain reminiscent of the Carolinas' interior, favoring strategic play over brute force. Designed by Russell Breeden in the early 1970s, Broomsedge favors a draw off the tee on several doglegs. Pine trees line many fairways adding a touch of visual drama. The routing offers a variety of shot shapes and club selections, presenting a test that is both fair and engaging. Broomsedge is esteemed locally as a friendly club where matches are convivial, but the competition remains fierce. The club is known for a close-knit membership, bound by a shared appreciation for the game's traditions and the simple pleasures of a well-played round, followed by lively post-round analysis.

Golfers say Broomsedge delivers an unconventional and exhilarating experience that breaks traditional design rules in the best way possible. Reviewers consistently praise the routing's creativity, highlighting standout holes like 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 15, along with unique features such as no fixed tee markers, multiple tee angles, double fairways, and alternating greens that create a match-play atmosphere. Most find the staff and caddies exceptional, and several predict the course will rank among South Carolina's top three and potentially earn future top-100 recognition. Though still operating with temporary facilities and not fully matured, the design by Franz and Koprowski already impresses visitors enough that many say they could play it daily.

Pretty damn good. Still in its infancy but as fun as it gets. Holes 1-5 are one of the best stretches you’ll find in golf
Incredible. Beautiful land with great holes
Great course, great people, and the caddies are awesome.
Breaks all the rules and that’s a good thing! Very strong holes, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 15 are the standouts. Could play this course everyday
Match play style course. No tee markers, hole winner just picks next tee box in general "tee off" areas. Several tee box angles to choose from & several holes with double fairways / alternating greens daily. So much fun & couldn't have been created better. The course is up there with some of the best in the southeast. Still in temporary club house & facilities but this is a future top 100.
Expect this course to be among the top 3 in the state.
While in the middle of nowhere, Broomsedge will no doubt be a destination for golfers in SC. Great staff and the logo is one that will get you spending money in the shop. While not fully grown in while on site, I was still blown away by what Kyle Franz and Mike Koprowski designed.
