BRENTWOOD COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, CA, USA
Designed by John Harbottle III
Brentwood Country Club exists as a verdant, exclusive enclave within the urban fabric of West Los Angeles, where Hollywood history meets a challenging, members-only golf experience.
Originally designed in the 1940s, the parkland layout presents a deceptively gentle first impression that belies its strategic demands. Subtle elevation changes and mature trees dictate shot placement, rewarding clever approaches more than brute force; the course tends to favor the player who can work the ball, navigating the tree-lined fairways with precision. The well-guarded greens demand attention to detail, making the short game paramount.
While not a frequent host to major championships, Brentwood Country Club's true character lies in its tight-knit membership and its role as a social hub for the surrounding community. The club's storied past is interwoven with the entertainment industry, and the fairways have likely seen their share of clandestine deals and celebratory rounds over the years. The halfway house is known amongst the membership for it's milkshakes, a Brentwood institution.
Reviews
Baby Riv
Different style than most LA spots. Good greens and gettable holes. Loved it
Greens and wind are its only real defense, but definitely not “get-able” without a decent game. Fun walk and solid membership. Great caddy program.
