BRAZELLS CREEK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Reidsville, GA, USA
Designed by Denis Griffiths

Brazells Creek Golf Course sits in Reidsville, a small city in Tattnall County in southeastern Georgia. Designed by Denis Griffiths, the course serves this rural community roughly halfway between Savannah and Macon, in a region characterized by gently rolling terrain, pine forests, and the sandy soils typical of Georgia's coastal plain.
Griffiths, an architect who worked primarily in the southeastern United States during the latter decades of the twentieth century, designed courses that generally emphasized playability for a range of skill levels while working within modest construction budgets. His layouts typically incorporate the natural land forms and vegetation of their sites rather than imposing dramatic earthwork or artificial features.
The course at Brazells Creek likely reflects these design principles, routing through native pines and hardwoods with the creek itself providing both namesake and natural hazard. The topography in this part of Georgia offers enough movement to create interesting hole corridors and strategic variety without requiring severe elevation changes. Courses in this region often feature Bermuda grass fairways and greens suited to the warm, humid climate.
As a community facility in a town of fewer than three thousand residents, Brazells Creek serves local golfers and visitors traveling through this agricultural region of Georgia. The course represents the kind of accessible, straightforward golf that sustains the game in smaller American towns, where the focus remains on providing an honest test and maintaining conditions within the constraints of a modest operating environment.
Reviews
Very well maintained for a state run public course. Front 9 and back 9 play as different courses as the back 9 was remodeled recently. The front features primarily wooded holes which at times require strategic shot placement, while the back 9 features minimal trees and open fairways. The back 9 greens tend to be in poor condition.
