BRASADA CANYONS GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Powell Butte, OR, USA
Designed by Jim Hardy

Brasada Canyons sits on the high desert plateau near Powell Butte in central Oregon, roughly twenty miles northeast of Bend. Designed by Jim Hardy and opened in 2007, the course occupies terrain characteristic of the region: juniper-studded high desert with dramatic elevation changes, natural ravines, and expansive views toward the Cascade Range. The layout takes its name from the canyon landforms that define much of the routing, with several holes playing across or along these natural features.
Hardy's design works with the native topography rather than imposing heavily manufactured contours on the landscape. The course measures over 7,300 yards from the back tees but offers multiple sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels. Fairways wind through high desert vegetation, and the playing corridors are framed by the natural sage, juniper, and native grasses that dominate this part of Oregon. Elevation changes throughout the round provide both strategic interest and visual drama, with some holes offering long views across the surrounding ranchland and toward distant peaks.
Brasada Canyons is part of the Brasada Ranch resort community, which includes lodging and other recreational amenities. The course serves both resort guests and outside play, functioning as a destination layout in a region better known for Bend's concentration of golf courses. The high desert climate means a playing season that typically runs from spring through fall, with conditions shaped by the area's dry air and significant diurnal temperature swings.
