BLYTHEFIELD COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Belmont, MI, USA
Designed by Theodore J. Moreau, William Langford

Blythefield is where West Michigan golf history is written, etched into the rolling terrain north of Grand Rapids. The classic parkland layout, routed through mature hardwoods and over subtly contoured ground, reflects the Golden Age sensibilities of architect William Langford. While Langford's design is the bedrock, a later touch from Arthur Hills sharpened its teeth for the modern game.
The course itself is a strategic tapestry of risk and reward. Wide fairways encourage aggressive play, but strategically placed bunkers and the meandering Rogue River penalize wayward shots. Blythefield does not favor any particular style of player. It is a course that rewards thoughtful play and a deft touch around the greens.
Blythefield’s membership has long been characterized as a collection of accomplished individuals from West Michigan's business and philanthropic communities. More than one deal has been struck on the course, more than one foundation has been started from a chance pairing in the grill room. While the competition is serious, an egalitarian spirit and an absence of stuffiness permeate the club’s atmosphere. It's this combination of challenging golf and genuine camaraderie that defines the Blythefield experience.
