TIMBER POINT GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Great River, NY, USA
Designed by C. H. Alison, Harry S. Colt

Timber Point Golf Club's Blue/White nines, cradled within the Suffolk County Police Department Marine Bureau grounds near Great River, whisper tales of accessible respite from the bustling Long Island sound. This is no championship gauntlet but it is one of only a few golf clubs run by an area's Police department.
Drawn across a primarily flat parkland terrain, the Blue/White combination presents a straightforward challenge with minimal elevation change. The design favors those who keep it on the short grass, but its strategic bunkering and mature trees often necessitate a thoughtful approach. It is not overly long but its narrow fairways add character and make scoring opportunities readily available for accurate players.
While not steeped in tournament lore or architecturally significant pedigree, the course fulfills an important function as a relaxed and affordable public access course. Timber Point's is known to serve the community and provide a welcomed recreational outlet for many golfers of different ages and abilities.
