BLOWING ROCK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Blowing Rock, NC, USA
Designed by Donald Ross, Rick Robbins, Seth Raynor

Blowing Rock Country Club is a testament to mountain golf, where elevation changes dictate strategy as much as any hazard. Carved into the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the course favors accuracy and creativity over sheer power, a reflection of its more classic sensibilities.
Originally designed by the legendary Herbert Strong during the Golden Age of golf course architecture, Blowing Rock presents a challenging but fair test. The layout incorporates the natural contours of the land, rewarding thoughtful shot-making and punishing wayward drives with thickets of rhododendron and towering pines. While not overly long, the course demands precise iron play to undulating greens that often run faster than they appear. Rees Jones was brought in for subtle renovations in the late 1990s.
For decades, the club has fostered a convivial atmosphere attracting generations of families. The club’s signature mountain-style clubhouse, a comfortable refuge after a round, is well known for its notable food offerings, particularly its hamburgers.
