BLOOMFIELD HILLS COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Bloomfield Hills, MI, USA
Designed by Arthur Hills, Donald Ross, Harry S. Colt, Robert Trent Jones Sr., Tom Bendelow

Bloomfield Hills Country Club, tucked into the affluent Detroit suburb of the same name, remains a bastion of classic, understated golf, where tradition and fellowship reign supreme. This is old money at its finest.
Designed by Harry S. Colt in the Golden Age, the course embraces a rolling parkland terrain, demanding strategic play rather than sheer power. The fairways, lined by mature trees, subtly favor those who can work the ball right to left. Though not long by modern standards, Colt's routing presents a delightful puzzle, challenging golfers to think their way around the course. In 1997, the club engaged world renowned architect, Jay Morrish, in an effort to recapture Colt's original vision.
Bloomfield Hills Country Club hosted the 1933 U.S. Amateur, won by George Dunlap, solidifying its place in the annals of American golf history. While not a frequent stop for major professional tournaments, the club maintains a respected position regionally.
Its membership has historically included titans of the automotive industry, further grounding the club in the area's rich industrial heritage. The club's grill room, a decidedly unstuffy setting, has been a constant source of enjoyment for those who appreciate camaraderie over pretension.
