LE PARCOURS DU CERF
🇨🇦 Longueuil, Québec, CA
Designed by Graham Cooke, Yannick Pilon
Le Parcours du Cerf in Longueuil operates on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River across from Montreal, offering golf in the suburban landscape of Quebec's second-largest metropolitan area. The facility features multiple nine-hole loops that can be combined into eighteen-hole configurations, with the Bleu/Rouge routing representing one such pairing. Graham Cooke, a Canadian architect with numerous courses across Quebec and eastern Canada, designed the original layout, with later involvement from Yannick Pilon, a Quebec-based designer who has worked on several regional projects.
The course occupies relatively flat terrain typical of the St. Lawrence lowlands, with mature trees defining corridors and framing holes throughout the property. Water features and bunkers provide strategic elements on a site without significant elevation change. The layout accommodates golfers of varying abilities through multiple tee options, reflecting the facility's role as an accessible public course serving the greater Montreal region.
Le Parcours du Cerf functions as a community course in a densely populated area where golf real estate faces development pressure. The multi-loop design allows operational flexibility for tournaments, outings, and daily play. The facility maintains French-language traditions common to Quebec golf clubs while welcoming the diverse population of Longueuil and surrounding municipalities. The course provides a straightforward test of golf without dramatic topography, relying on sound design principles and conditioning to create interest across its routing.
