Blackheath at Fords Colony Country Club

Blackheath is one of two eighteen-hole courses at Fords Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Virginia, designed by Dan Maples and opened in the mid-1980s. The course takes its name from the historic Blackheath Golf Club in England, reflecting the colonial heritage of the Williamsburg area. Maples, known for his work throughout the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic, routed the course through rolling, wooded terrain characteristic of Virginia's coastal plain region, incorporating natural elevation changes and mature hardwoods into the design.

The layout features a traditional parkland character with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and water hazards that come into play on several holes. The routing takes advantage of the property's natural contours, offering variety in hole lengths and shot requirements.
