INDIAN CREEK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Elkhorn, NE, USA
Designed by Frank Hummel, Mark Rathert, Todd Quitno

Indian Creek's Black Bird/Gray Hawk courses represent a modern challenge sculpted from the rolling prairie west of Omaha. Unlike the cornfields that once defined the area, the course features undulating fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards demanding thoughtful approaches. It’s a course where length is rewarded, but wayward drives are severely penalized by thick rough and native grasses.
Designed by a team led by Steve Wolfard, Black Bird/Gray Hawk eschews the rigid formality of some contemporary designs, favoring a more natural flow across the land. While not yet a stage for major championships, the course is a popular destination for competitive regional amateurs, and plays host to a robust schedule of local tournaments.
The appeal of Indian Creek extends beyond the course itself. It's a club steeped in local pride, a gathering place for a membership drawn from across the Omaha metropolitan area. Stories circulate of impromptu matches between local business leaders, their competitive spirit as sharp as the course's meticulously manicured greens. And while the club might not boast a signature dish like some of its more storied peers, the 19th hole buzzes with lively post-round analysis and camaraderie.
