INDIAN CREEK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Elkhorn, NE, USA
Designed by Frank Hummel, Mark Rathert, Todd Quitno
Indian Creek Golf Club, nestled in the rolling hills of Elkhorn, Nebraska, is a testament to Midwestern golf's enduring appeal. It’s a course where the spirit of friendly competition thrives as much as the meticulously maintained fairways.
This modern course unfurls across a landscape subtly sculpted to challenge players of all abilities. The layout, while not particularly long, demands strategic thinking, forcing golfers to consider angles and club selection more than brute power. Wide fairways provide a forgiving canvas off the tee, but well-placed bunkers and subtle undulations around the greens punish errant approaches.
Designed with an eye toward playability, the course has a friendly local atmosphere, a strong testament to the welcoming spirit of Nebraska golf. Post-round, the clubhouse buzzes with friendly banter, often centered around the club’s famed prime rib, a culinary tradition almost as revered as the game itself.
Reviews
A humbling experience watching the Korn Ferry tour here and then playing it myself. Make sure you find fairways because Black Bird delivers bold challenges with downhill par 4s and well-guarded greens.
Most challenging of the three 9-hole routings. Accuracy off the tee is a must if you want to score well, especially when the rough is grown out for Korn Ferry Tournament conditions.
