Ron Forse, a restoration architect known for his work on classic American courses, undertook a restoration project at Binghamton to return elements of Tillinghast's original design intent. Forse's work typically focuses on recapturing lost bunkering styles, green contours, and strategic angles that may have been softened or altered over decades of maintenance evolution. The course features Tillinghast's characteristic green complexes with subtle internal contours and strategic bunkering that rewards thoughtful approach play.

The layout measures around 6,700 yards from the championship tees and provides a traditional parkland test that emphasizes accuracy and course management over sheer length.
