BENT CREEK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Jacksonville, FL, USA
Designed by Bobby Weed

Bent Creek Golf Course sits in Jacksonville, Florida, and was designed by Bobby Weed, an architect who has built a substantial portfolio of courses throughout the Southeast. Weed, who worked with Pete Dye early in his career, has designed or renovated more than forty courses, many of them in Florida where he understands the challenges of routing golf through flat terrain, managing water, and working with native vegetation. Bent Creek reflects this regional expertise, offering a layout shaped by the area's characteristic topography and natural features.
The course occupies land typical of northeast Florida's coastal plain, where elevation changes are modest and water features often define both strategy and aesthetics. Weed's design incorporates these elements into the routing, creating holes that require thoughtful club selection and course management rather than relying on dramatic landforms. The layout uses native grasses, pines, and wetland areas to frame holes and establish playing corridors, giving the course a sense of place within Jacksonville's broader landscape.
Bent Creek serves as a public facility, providing accessible golf in a region with a strong recreational golf culture. Jacksonville's golf community benefits from year-round playing conditions, and courses like Bent Creek contribute to the area's reputation as a destination for both residents and visitors seeking varied golf experiences. The design emphasizes playability across different skill levels while maintaining enough challenge to keep regular players engaged throughout the round.

Used to work here, used to be a municipal course but has new ownership. Love that the range has lights. Lots of forced carries, good Par 5s and definitely a good challenge. Conditions vary
