BELVEDERE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇨🇦 Sherwood Park, Alberta, CA
Designed by Bill Robinson

Belvedere Golf & Country Club sits in Sherwood Park, a large suburban community immediately east of Edmonton, Alberta. Designed by Bill Robinson and opened in the early 1990s, the course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the aspen parkland that defines much of central Alberta's landscape. Robinson, a prolific Canadian architect active from the 1960s through the 1990s, routed the layout to take advantage of natural elevation changes and stands of mature trees that frame many holes.
The course measures over 7,000 yards from the back tees and presents a traditional parkland test with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and water hazards that come into play on several holes. The routing moves through varied topography, with some holes playing across gentle valleys and others climbing modest ridges that offer views across the property. Greens are typically elevated and well-defended, requiring accurate approach play.
Belvedere serves as a private club for the Sherwood Park community and surrounding area, offering year-round facilities that include curling in addition to golf. The club maintains a family-oriented membership culture common to many Canadian country clubs, with active junior programs and social events throughout the season. The course operates within the relatively short Alberta golf season, which typically runs from late April through October depending on weather conditions.
