Baytowne at Sandestin is one of four golf courses at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Florida's Emerald Coast. The course measures approximately 6,900 yards from the back tees and plays as a resort-style layout accessible to a range of skill levels. Bermuda grass covers fairways and greens, typical for the Gulf Coast climate. The routing incorporates the area's native vegetation, including pines and palmettos, along with the lakes and marshes that define much of the property's character. Several holes require carries over water or strategic positioning to avoid hazards that guard greens and landing areas. As part of the Sandestin Resort complex, Baytowne serves both resort guests and members in a vacation-oriented setting. The course operates within a larger amenity package that includes accommodations, dining, and access to the resort's other golf facilities. The Emerald Coast location places it near Destin and the beaches of South Walton County, making it part of a regional golf destination that attracts visitors year-round, particularly during the milder months outside Florida's summer heat and humidity.
