BATON ROUGE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Baton Rouge, LA, USA
Designed by Bert Stamps, Greg Muirhead

Baton Rouge Country Club is the venerable heart of golf in Louisiana's capital, a place where generations have learned the game's nuances amidst whispering pines and the humid air of the South. Its gently rolling terrain, characteristic of the region, presents a deceptively challenging parkland experience, one where subtle breaks on the greens and strategically placed bunkers more often dictate scoring than raw power. The course is a test of shot-making more than strength - players who can shape their ball and manage the doglegs that meander through the property tend to fare best.
Originally designed by William "Diddy" Tucker, the course underwent a significant renovation in the early 2000s by David Toms, who sought to modernize the layout while retaining its classic charm. This has resulted in a blend of old-school strategy and modern playability.
While not a regular stop on the professional tour, Baton Rouge Country Club has hosted numerous state amateur championships, solidifying its place as a proving ground for Louisiana's finest golfers. More casually, it’s known locally as a comfortable spot. The club has quietly remained a local favorite, steeped in tradition, and known throughout the city.
