Baron von Münchhausen is an 18-hole parkland course located at Golfclub Bad Bevensen in the Lüneburg Heath region of Lower Saxony, approximately 80 kilometers south of Hamburg. The course takes its name from the legendary Baron Hieronymus von Münchhausen, the 18th-century nobleman famous for his tall tales, who lived nearby in Bodenwerder. The club opened in 1992 and operates two courses on the property, with Baron von Münchhausen serving as the championship layout. The course plays through gently rolling terrain characteristic of the North German Plain, incorporating mature woodland, heathland vegetation, and water features across its routing. The design emphasizes strategic shot-making rather than extreme length, with tree-lined fairways requiring accuracy from the tee and approach shots to greens protected by bunkers and natural contours.
