BANDON DUNES GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bandon, OR, USA
Designed by Ben Crenshaw, Bill Coore
Bandon Trails, carved into the dramatic landscape of the Oregon Coast, embodies the spirit of discovery that defines Bandon Dunes. This course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, defies typical links expectations, ascending through a diverse tapestry of coastal forests, open meadows, and rolling dunes. The routing plays to this variety, creating a dynamic experience highlighted by blind tee shots and demanding approaches where accuracy is rewarded with strategic advantage.
Built in the Modern era, Bandon Trails showcases a masterful blend of minimalist design and natural integration. Coore and Crenshaw expertly utilize the existing terrain, resulting in a course that feels organically woven into the landscape rather than imposed upon it. Favors strategic play, especially into the greens. This demands creative shot-making and thoughtful club selection.
While Bandon Trails has yet to host a major professional championship, its architectural merit and the compelling variety of its holes have earned it widespread acclaim. The course adds to the rich tapestry of golf experiences at Bandon Dunes, and it represents a unique contrast to the pure links offerings. While Bandon Dunes is celebrated for its links, Bandon Trails stands apart.
Reviews
I love Bandon, Trails my 1/1B every time, if you are going and not playing them all make sure you play trails, a pure track and great time
Didn’t get to finish the round due to daylight but what a course. Get all the best terrains. Can’t wait to go back and fully experience all 18.
If you ask the caddies this is their favorite. Probably the one you could play the most and still be intrigued. Tree-lined but not tight, lots of room to miss. Very peaceful and a nice reprieve from the winds
Very cool walk through the different topography of the area, sand dunes to the meadow to the coastal forest. Much more of a traditional course than the others. I found it to be very difficult but could see where this would be the one that grew on me the most if I played multiple times.
My favorite of the Bandon Courses
One of the best courses you’ll ever play at the best place you’ll ever play and stay. Playing in the winter is incredible value $110 a round and most of these pics are January who says it rains all the time in Oregon. Best collection of par 3’s on property maybe anywhere imo. Toughest walk at the resort but walk it you must. You have to play at Bandon at least once I’m lucky it’s a 2.5 hour drive and play here a few times a year.
Toughest at Bandon resort but amazing scenery & layout.
For me this is far and away my favorite course at Bandon. Doesn’t make it the best necessarily but it is an A Grade golf course. Approach shots are where the fun is at. There is one absolute crime of a hole, I believe 13. Short downhill par 4.
The long standing joke is that real ball knowers pick Trails as their favorite, but there’s a reason for that…it is the best course on the property, for real. There’s something incredibly peaceful about the valley holes that almost is reminiscent of Pine Valley.
My favorite course at Bandon. It’s the one that feels most alive. Starting on the dunes, slipping into the forest, then climbing back toward the coast like a journey through Oregon itself. Coore & Crenshaw built it with pure instinct, letting the land dictate every curve and contour. The variety is endless: uphill drives framed by pines, firm running approaches, and greens that beg for imagination. It doesn’t need ocean views to stand out; Bandon Trails wins you over with rhythm, soul, and a sense of calm you don’t want to leave behind.
