BALLANTRAE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Pelham, AL, USA
Designed by Bob Cupp

Ballantrae Golf Club isn't just a course carved into the Alabama landscape; it's a testament to the enduring appeal of risk-reward golf in the rolling foothills south of Birmingham. Designed in the modern era, Ballantrae features generous fairways that belie the strategic challenges awaiting on approach. Errant shots find penal roughs and strategically placed bunkers, demanding thoughtful club selection more than raw power. The course generally favors a draw, and with a few notable doglegs.
Designed by Bob Cupp, Ballantrae's layout winds through a landscape punctuated by mature hardwoods and natural water features. While it has yet to host a major championship, the course is a popular and challenging venue for state amateur events, further solidifying its place as a competitive proving ground for Alabama golfers.
Beyond the golf, Ballantrae is a centerpiece of the Ballantrae community. A round here is often followed by conversation and community at the clubhouse. This connection to the residential area gives it a unique feel amongst many of its peers in the state. It is also known for a vibrant women's golf association.
Ballantrae offers a stern test of golf, and a friendly and familial golf club experience.
