A fixture on the Colorado River since its founding in 1899, Austin Country Club showcases a course steeped in history, where legends like Harvey Penick honed their craft. The land, a unique blend of rolling terrain framed by the river, encourages strategic play over brute force, favoring shot-shapers who can navigate the subtly contoured fairways.
Designed initially by John Bredemus, with later enhancements by Pete Dye, the course presents a compelling test. While not excessively long by modern standards, the tight corridors, strategically placed bunkers, and the ever-present threat of the river demand a deft touch. The course is known for its demanding par 3s and the challenge of making par.
While not a frequent host of major championships, Austin Country Club holds a special place in the hearts of Austin golfers and is home to the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. The club maintains a regional reputation as a challenging yet enjoyable course, a testament to its enduring design and meticulous upkeep.
The clubhouse atmosphere reflects the club’s long-standing tradition, with a membership known for its deep roots in the Austin community. And in a city known for its music scene, it's rumored that impromptu jam sessions sometimes break out on the patio after a round, blending the spirit of golf with the city's vibrant culture.

The water holes do a lot of legwork scenery-wise. Not a fan of seeing houses. Super fun course, hard, and fun to play where I grew up watchin Kiz throw down.
