Reviews
Does this place deserve a 10? Probably not. It’s probably a 9. But after a plane ride that lands on a beach, hitchhiking with a local lass (I still love you, KatieAnne McPhee), ferry ride, hitchhiking again from my rental to the course, this place is absolutely a 10. I played 54 holes in 1 day and saw 1 other group of golfers. A handful of cattle farmers checked in to make sure I was having a good time. There aren’t many dunes this dramatic in Scotland. Dramatic dunes force unconventional and interesting holes. It can be hard to justify a trip here, especially if you’re expecting good conditions and professional hospitality. But if you want to meet some South Uist locals and play a truly special place in the game, Askernish is for you.
