PALMETTO DUNES GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Hilton Head Island, SC, USA
Designed by Arthur Hills

Arthur Hills at Palmetto Dunes unfolds as a strategic test, a counterpoint to the more celebrated courses along Hilton Head's famed shores. Completed in 1986, this modern design reflects Hills' signature style – demanding precise shot-making and rewarding intelligent course management, particularly around its undulating greens. The terrain, typical of the island's coastal landscape, features lagoons and towering pines, creating a visually appealing, but deceptively challenging round where a slight miscalculation can find a watery grave or nestled among the pine straw.
While lacking the national prominence of its neighbors, Hills at Palmetto Dunes has fostered a dedicated following among locals and returning visitors. The course is not known for hosting any major professional events. Its regional appeal stems from its playability for all skill levels, from the high handicaps to the single digit masters.
Its unpretentious atmosphere, complemented by Southern charm, makes it a popular choice for a relaxed, yet engaging round. Palmetto Dunes itself is a vast resort community. The course is also know for its low country boil that is on the menu on a weekly bases.
