The Arden Course at Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel Golf & Country Club sits in Warwickshire countryside near Meriden, roughly equidistant between Birmingham and Coventry. Donald Steel designed the course, which opened in the late 1970s as part of a hotel and leisure complex. Steel, known for his work across Britain and his writings on golf architecture, created a parkland layout that winds through mature woodland and open farmland characteristic of the English Midlands.

The routing makes extensive use of the property's natural water features, with several lakes and streams coming into play throughout the round. The course occupies gently rolling terrain rather than dramatic elevation changes, typical of inland Warwickshire. The par-72 design stretches over 7,000 yards from the championship tees.

The Arden Course gained prominence on the European Tour schedule, hosting the British Masters and English Open during the 1990s and 2000s.
