APPLE MOUNTAIN GOLF RESORT
🇺🇸 Camino, CA, USA
Designed by Algie Pulley

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Camino, California, Apple Mountain Golf Resort offers a respite from the region's more demanding courses. This mountain layout, carved through stands of towering pines, presents a gentler challenge, favoring strategic play over brute strength. Its undulating fairways and approachable greens, however, still require precision to navigate.
Designed by architect Billy Casper, the course has seen few alterations since its inception. This design caters to a relaxed round of golf, where the emphasis lies on camaraderie and enjoying the mountain air, rather than battling a punishing layout. The lack of significant championship pedigree reflects its approachable character.
Apple Mountain is known amongst locals for its Apple Pie. It is considered by many to be one of the region's best. This has been a tradition ever since the course opened, and is said to be based on a recipe passed down by one of the original local Apple farmers. This is one of the main reasons that Apple Mountain is a favorite to visit.
