SQUAW VALLEY GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Glen Rose, TX, USA
Designed by Jeff Brauer, John Colligan

Apache Links at Squaw Valley Golf Club occupies rolling terrain in Glen Rose, Texas, a small town southwest of Fort Worth known for its Cretaceous limestone formations and proximity to the Paluxy River valley. The course was designed by John Colligan and Jeff Brauer, architects who have worked extensively across Texas and the southern United States. The design takes advantage of the property's natural elevation changes and native vegetation, incorporating the region's characteristic live oaks, mesquite, and native grasses into the routing.
The layout moves through varied topography that includes elevated tee shots, approach plays to greens set against hillsides, and holes that follow the contours of the land. The limestone substrate common to this part of the Texas Hill Country influences both the playing surfaces and the visual character of the course. Water features appear on several holes, and the design emphasizes strategic options rather than pure length, allowing players to navigate the course through course management and shot placement.
Glen Rose sits in a rural setting that has remained relatively undeveloped, and the course reflects this quieter character. The facility serves both members and daily-fee players, providing golf in a region of Texas that offers fewer courses than the major metropolitan areas to the north and east. The combination of natural terrain, regional design sensibility, and accessible play defines the experience at Apache Links.

This was a fun 18, good value. If you’re in the area check it out
I enjoyed the Links more than the Lakes at Squaw Valley. When I played there last, they were both struggling with some of the greens, there was Poa and some dead spots they were trying to either sod or bring back. Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition though. It's a fairly 'basic' course, but I really enjoyed the rounds I've played there and it's maybe the best $40 course I've played.
