Antrim Dells at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort

Antrim Dells occupies rolling terrain in northern Michigan's Grand Traverse region, part of the A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort near Kewadin. Jerry Matthews designed the course to work with the natural contours and wooded character typical of this part of the state, where glacial activity created varied elevation changes and left behind sandy soils suitable for golf. The layout takes its name from nearby Antrim County and the dell-like valleys that define portions of the property.

The routing moves through stands of hardwoods and conifers, with fairways that rise and fall across the topography. Matthews incorporated the existing landforms rather than extensive earthmoving, resulting in holes that follow the terrain's natural rhythm. Several holes play along ridgelines or down into lower corridors, and the design asks players to manage uneven lies and approach shots to greens set at different elevations. Water features appear on select holes, though the course relies more on its wooded borders and elevation changes for strategic interest.

A-Ga-Ming operates as a northern Michigan golf destination, with Antrim Dells serving as one of its courses alongside other layouts on the property. The resort attracts visitors during the region's golf season, which runs from late spring through fall when the area's forests display seasonal color changes.
