Amagi Kogen Golf Course sits in the highlands of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, approximately two hours southwest of Tokyo. Designed by Seiichi Inoue, the course occupies elevated terrain in the Amagi mountain range, an area known for its volcanic topography and forested landscapes. The region's cooler temperatures at altitude make it a popular retreat from the heat of Japan's coastal cities during summer months. The routing takes advantage of the natural elevation changes characteristic of highland courses in Japan, with holes moving through stands of Japanese cedar and other native vegetation.
