Stephen Wenzloff

Stephen Wenzloff's work in golf course architecture is represented in the Course Vaults collection through TPC at Avenel in Potomac, Maryland. The course, known as Avenel, served as a notable Tournament Players Club venue in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

TPC at Avenel hosted the PGA Tour's Kemper Open (later known by various sponsor names) from 1987 through 2005, establishing itself as a regular tour stop for nearly two decades. The layout challenged professional fields over many seasons, though the course ultimately closed in 2009 and the property was redeveloped.

While limited documentation is readily available about Wenzloff's broader career and other projects, his association with a long-standing TPC venue reflects involvement in tournament-caliber golf course design during an era of Tour network expansion.
