Ron Garl

Ron Garl is an American golf course architect whose five-decade career has produced an extensive portfolio concentrated in Florida and the southeastern United States. Working independently and in consultation with touring professionals, he has designed and renovated courses ranging from championship layouts to resort and private club facilities across North America and internationally.

His most prominent work includes the Stadium Course at TPC Prestancia in Sarasota, Florida, designed in consultation with Mike Souchak and created for the PGA Tour's Tournament Players Club network in 1985. The course hosted the Chrysler Cup from 1987 to 1994 and the American Express Invitational from 1996 to 2000, both Senior PGA Tour events. Other notable Florida designs include Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake, Indiana, Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, and the Azalea course at The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, Alabama.

Garl's portfolio demonstrates versatility across project types, from TPC facilities and country clubs to municipal courses and resort properties. His designs span from Texas and Utah to South Carolina and Louisiana, with additional work in Canada, Panama, Thailand, and China. Many of his courses serve as home clubs for private memberships and residential communities throughout the Sun Belt region.
