Larry Nelson

Larry Gene Nelson, born September 10, 1947, is an American professional golfer who achieved significant success on both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. His competitive accomplishments established him as one of the sport's respected figures during his playing career.

Following his tournament days, Nelson turned to golf course design, creating layouts across the United States and Asia. His portfolio includes Centennial Golf Club in Carmel, New York, featuring multiple course combinations including Lakes/Meadows and Fairways configurations. The Springhouse course at Gaylord Springs near Nashville and the Avocet layout at Wild Wing Plantation in South Carolina represent his work in resort golf. Nelson also designed courses internationally, including Tomioka Club in Japan and Lions International Golf Resort in China.
