Henry Hughes

Henry Hughes was a golf course architect active primarily in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region during the mid-20th century. While detailed biographical records are limited, his portfolio demonstrates a focus on accessible public and country club layouts across smaller cities and mountain communities throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and the Texas Panhandle.

His work includes a substantial collection of municipal courses such as Aurora Hills Golf Course, Meadow Hills Golf Course, and the multi-course Kennedy Golf Course complex in Aurora, as well as Valley Hi Golf Course in Colorado Springs. Hughes also designed private club layouts including Columbine Country Club in Columbine Valley and Pueblo Country Club. Among his more distinctive settings are Estes Park Golf Course and Lake Estes Executive 9, both situated in the scenic mountain town of Estes Park, and The Olde Course at Loveland, which ranks highest among his designs in Course Vaults scoring.
