Harry Vardon

Harry Vardon (1870–1937) was one of golf's earliest international superstars and remains the only player to win The Open Championship six times. Born in Jersey, he formed the legendary "Great Triumvirate" alongside John Henry Taylor and James Braid, dominating professional golf at the turn of the 20th century. Vardon also claimed the 1900 U.S. Open, giving him seven major championships—still the most by any golfer from the British Isles. Known as "the Stylist" for his elegant technique and contributions to golf fashion, he did much to raise the status of the professional game.

Beyond competition, Vardon lent his name to numerous course designs across Britain and Ireland.
