Hale Irwin

Hale Irwin established himself as one of golf's premier competitors from the mid-1970s through the mid-1980s, winning three U.S. Opens and becoming the oldest champion in that major's history when he triumphed at age 45 in 1990. His success extended into the senior ranks, where he compiled the second-most victories all-time on the PGA Tour Champions and cemented his reputation as one of the greatest players in that tour's history.

Following his playing career, Irwin transitioned into golf course architecture, building a diverse portfolio across the United States and internationally. His designs range from mountain layouts like The Glacier Club in Colorado and Teton Reserve in Idaho to public courses such as Coyote Crossing in Indiana and The Courses at Forest Park in St. Louis. His work reflects varied terrain and player experiences, with notable projects including the Members Course at St. James Plantation, Indian Peaks Golf Club in Colorado, and TPC at Wakefield Plantation in North Carolina.

Irwin's architectural practice has produced courses in several states as well as projects in Japan, demonstrating his commitment to design work following decades of championship-level play.
