George Alexander

George Alexander was a golf course architect active in Scotland during the early development of the sport. While detailed biographical records are limited, his work is associated with the golden age of Scottish course design when many of the game's foundational layouts were established.

Alexander's known contribution includes design work at Gleneagles Golf Resort in Auchterarder, Perth and Kinross. The 9-hole course attributed to him represents the type of modest but thoughtfully routed layouts that served local golfing communities during his era. Gleneagles would later become one of Scotland's most celebrated golf destinations, though much of that fame stems from subsequent development by other architects.

The historical record surrounding lesser-known designers from this period is often fragmentary, with many architects' contributions documented primarily through property records and club histories rather than comprehensive career archives.
