Ed Seay

Ed Seay built a substantial portfolio of golf course designs during his career, particularly through his long-standing partnership with Arnold Palmer Design Company. His work spanned the United States and internationally, ranging from resort courses to private clubs. Notable projects include renovations at historic clubs such as Laurel Valley Golf Club in Pennsylvania and the design of Quail Hollow Country Club in North Carolina, which has hosted major championships. His portfolio extends from Florida and the Carolinas to California, Hawaii, and Australia.

Seay's designs often balanced playability with championship-caliber challenge, as seen at courses like Aviara Golf Club in California, Old Tabby Golf Links in South Carolina, and Adios Golf Club in Florida. His work at TPC facilities and numerous Palmer-branded courses helped establish him as a prolific architect during the latter decades of the twentieth century. Projects such as Treesdale Golf & Country Club in Pennsylvania and courses at resorts including Hapuna Beach in Hawaii demonstrate the geographic and stylistic range of his career.

Throughout his work with Palmer and on independent projects, Seay completed dozens of courses that continue to serve both daily-fee and private club markets across North America.
