Casey O'Callaghan was a Southern California–based golf course architect active primarily during the mid-to-late 20th century. Working in an era when the region experienced significant golf development, O'Callaghan designed affordable public and resort courses that helped expand access to the game across the Inland Empire and greater Los Angeles area.
His portfolio includes the South Course at Indian Canyons Golf Resort in Palm Springs, a desert layout that takes advantage of the dramatic natural setting. O'Callaghan also designed both the Ike Eisenhower and Babe Zaharias courses at Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, creating a 36-hole complex that served both public golfers and resort guests. Additional work includes Birch Hills Golf Course in Brea, California.
While O'Callaghan maintained a lower profile than some of his Golden State contemporaries, his courses reflect the practical design priorities of mid-century California golf: playability for average golfers, efficient use of varied terrain, and value-oriented development.
