Buddy Loving

Buddy Loving developed a concentrated portfolio of golf courses primarily across Virginia and neighboring Mid-Atlantic states, with work that emphasizes playability and integration with natural terrain. His designs include multiple courses at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg—the Mountain, Peak, Lake, and Spring layouts—as well as the South/North courses at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville and the 27-hole Shenandoah Valley Golf Club complex in Front Royal.

Among his notable Virginia projects are The Waters Edge Country Club in Penhook and Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket. His portfolio also extends to institutional and public-access facilities, including the Virginia Tech Golf Course in Blacksburg and municipal layouts such as Meadow Creek Golf Course in Charlottesville. Winters Run Golf Club in Bel Air, Maryland, represents one of his designs beyond Virginia.

Loving's work demonstrates consistent attention to routing that accommodates varied skill levels while respecting the topography of the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions where most of his courses are situated.
